Designed and built by CSI, this home is located just outside of Bozeman, Montana in Gallatin Gateway. Drawing its inspiration from early rural and agricultural buildings, the Gallatin Gateway Ranch incorporates sod roofing and earth sheltering, giving the residence its unique look. The floor plan is oriented on an east-west axis, which takes advantage of the amazing views surrounding the property. This orientation also makes harvesting solar energy and heat more efficient. In addition, the stained concrete floors act as passive heat sinks, the concrete and Structural Insulated Panel walls provide an incredibly efficient thermal envelope, and the geothermal heat pump provides steady radiant heating and cooling. In an area where the weather can produce high wind and heavy snow, the home is quiet, comfortable and peaceful.
