The Riverside Remodel was a major reconstruction of the living, kitchen and bath areas of a 1980’s home. The owners, who enjoy cooking and entertaining, wanted a new kitchen that was the social center of the living area. Therefore, several of the interior walls that separated the existing kitchen from the dining and living areas were removed, which opened up the space. The living and kitchen areas became more integrated, and the dining area was placed adjacent but open to the living area. An existing second living area was closed in by a new entry closet and doors into the dining area were added. These renovations made the space a more intimate den/ inglenook. Additionally, the master bathroom was remodeled and the finishes were updated to add style, space and functionality. Finally, the laundry room and second bath swapped spaces, and a small powder room was also given a facelift.
